ETC-FunSafe SL is constituted as an expert engineering consultancy in Functional Safety. We provide services across the petrochemical and oil and gas industry, including Up & Down Stream and On & Off Shore facilities; to both end users (Production) and service providers (EPC’s – Engineering, Procurement and construction).

FUNCTIONAL SAFETY

Functional Safety encompasses the study of risk scenarios in process plants, the elements that can initiate them and the consequences of its occurrence.

It proposes protecting these processes through automated instrumented or operational layers of protection, able to minimize the likelihood and mitigate the severity of the consequences of any possible events.

ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES

The study of these risk scenarios requires deep knowledge in risk analysis techniques both qualitative and quantitative, and designing the different protections should be governed under strict compliance with current international standards and regulations, since the ultimate aim is to ensure the safety and proper functioning of processes that may otherwise compromise, even with loss of life, the people involved.

STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

There has always been a need to ensure safe processes in the petrochemical and oil and gas industry however recent disasters have heightened the importance of quality risk management.

In recent years the generation of international guidelines, standards and regulations has drawn on best practice to create important consistency for process safety.
